I began my journey with Presbyterian Senior Living at Windy Hill Village serving as the Director of Dining Services from 2012 till 2016. Then in 2016 I agreed to accept the position as Director of Dining here at Westminster Woods. Personally this was a great opportunity to once again return to Westminster; this time not as the chef but the Director of Dining. I had the honor of being the first chef here at Westminster from 1996 till 2000. Before coming to Westminster as the chef, I had received my culinary degree from The Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts. After my graduation from culinary school in Pittsburgh, I relocated to South Carolina were I worked in several restaurants as the Executive Chef as well as Sous Chef. I had the privilege to join the Westminster Woods management team as the Assistant Dining Service Director in 2013. Prior to my coming to Westminster I had been working in dining management in another senior living community. Before entering the world of senior living I actively and proudly served 27 years reaching the rank as Master Gunnery Sargant in the United States Marine Corps. It was my privilege to travel the world and personally cooked and served meals to President H.W. Bush and many generals in the Marine Corp. During my time in the Marines I had the opportunity to attend training class at the Culinary Institute of America. I enjoy creating great food that enhance the daily lives of our residents and to all whom I serve. My office is located in the Oaks Nursing Center main kitchen. My office number is 814-644-2024. I am a Huntingdon County native, well versed in PA Dutch comfort food (Thanks, Gram), but also adventurous with ingredients. I truly believe that well-made food is one of the best ways to show love and enjoy giving that affection to the residents of Westminster Woods. I began my culinary adventure here at Westminster Woods in 2022. Before coming to Westminster Woods, I had spent 5 years at Edgewater Acres, which is a local historical Restaurant and Inn here in Huntingdon County. During my time there I took an active role in serving guest of the inn, taking part in private caterings, weddings and daily meal production for the restaurant. After my time at Edgewater I worked as a cook supervisor at our local hospital. I would prepare meals, for not only the patients of the hospital but was responsible for preparing the meals for the nursing home which is located in-side the hospital. In my past I have worked at several other locally owned family restaurants here in Huntingdon. When I am not at work, I enjoy music concerts and time with my cats.
